There seems to be a never-ending stream of articles about how “tough” and competitive it is to buy a house in the DC market. I know how frustrating it can be for homebuyers to be faced with the option of either buying a less than fabulous “flipped” house or an old tired one. Whether you are a first-time homebuyer or a seasoned homeowner looking for a new home, the search can seem daunting and frankly, a bit disappointing. It doesn’t have to be!
As someone who has renovated numerous homes in the city, I love helping my clients see the possibilities of what “could be”, watching them fall in love with that vision and giving them the tools to make their dream come true. I have an affinity for modern architecture but, also a soft spot for older, traditional homes. I’m always intrigued by paint colors, flooring, tile and even crazy little details like the moldings! And for that reason, I am completely addicted to Pinterest.
The biggest hurdle, of course, is how to finance turning that not-so-fabulous fixer upper into your dream home. Money does not have to be an issue! More importantly, you don’t even have to use your own money. There are a variety of ways to finance a renovation project. And, I am happy to talk with you about how to make this happen!.
When I'm not selling real estate
Outside of real estate, I live in DC and love it. For me, it is the perfect mixture of city and small town. I’m an avid runner and enjoy taking advantage of all the outdoor activities available in the area. It’s a good thing I enjoy being active; I love to eat – whether trying out new restaurants around the city or old favorites. When I can’t make it out, I have fun trying out new recipes at home.
