The Atlas District, also known as the H Street Corridor, is a burgeoning arts and entertainment district, located just east of union station in Washington DC. Once a flourishing community, the area suffered economic setbacks after the riots of 1968 and began a resurgence in the late 1990s when a local restaurateur began to transform a three block area with various music venues and taverns.
Forbes magazine just named Atlas one of America’s most hipster neighborhoods. It’s has music, food, and affordability. It’s a great place to live.
The past few years have seen a huge population surge as economic development has exploded. Driven by a campaign around the revitalized Atlas Theater, now the Atlas Performing Arts Center and home to Capitol City Symphony.
