Founded in 1749 and located along the banks of the Potomac River, Alexandria Virginia is a living history of colonialism, resilience and growth.
From the early days of the nation, Alexandria was a bustling harbor town, but when the civil war hit, it became the confederates longest held occupied town. Subsequently, social and commercial prospects languished for many years, however, the turn of the century brought tremendous growth and economic change to the area as the government used the town as a base of operations for manufacturing.
Through the20th century, Alexandria became much bigger in regards to its significance, becoming the home of National Airport, the Pentagon, and a commercial hot spot for companies who wanted access to DC and government.
From a residential standpoint the city of Alexandria has a little bit of everything, from the row house in historic old town, to the sprawling suburban manor, all within the confines of a city 3 miles from downtown.

Alexandria is thriving, consistently ranking as one of the country’s best places to live and work, as well as having one of the highest per capita average incomes in the country. With excellent transportation, proximity to Downtown DC, high employment and inviting neighborhoods, Alexandria could be a fine choice for any looking for a remarkable living experience.
